Meester, 22, who plays Blair Waldorf in the TV series, is on a roll. She was named by Vanity Fair as one of today's hot young thing in its August issue, along with Jessica Szohr, Penn Badgley, Blake Lively, Chace Crawford, Ed Westwick and Taylor Momsen. She also made it to the cover of Lucky magazine as TV's best dressed new star.
Asked by Vanity Fair to name her favorite designer, Meester said, "I'm more a normal person than, like, a fashion girl. For everyday, I like Fluxus-it's really soft. I really like Foley & Corinna; they do a good mix of vintage and new."
Were people mean to you like Blair was? "There was always one little girl in each grade that was mean to me. But I was never mean to anyone. I was never like, 'Ew!'?"
Meester, who appeared in season one of Entourage as Justine Chapin, will reprise her role in season five, appearing in at least one episode in the first half of the season. Season five of the show is set to premiere in September.
A native of Marco Island, Florida, Meester moved with her family to New York City when she was 11 and soon after began working as a model with Wilhelmina, booking a Ralph Lauren campaign shot by Bruce Webber and working with then-photographer Sofia Coppola. She later graduated to TV starting with Law & Order in 1999.
