© AFP/File Alberto PizzoliROME (AFP) - The portrait of a poor Sicilian family who emigrates to the United States was screened for the first time at the Venice Film Festival in September where it won the Silver Lion Revelation award and will fly the flag for Italy in the February event, the ANSA news agency reported Monday.
Crialese, a graduate of the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, was also given the Grand Prize of the Week award at Cannes in 2002 for his film "Respiro".
