Rupert Grint
London, Sept 19: His 18th birthday party didn’t turn out the way it was planned for ‘Harry Potter’ star Rupert Grint, for a girl has charged one of the guests of sexually assaulting her.
18-year old Joshua Lodge, a pal of the actor, has been charged with sexual assault that reportedly took place during the bash at a private house in Watton-at-Stone, Hertfordshire, on Saturday, September 9.
Even though Grint, who plays Potter’s best friend Ron Weasley in the super-hit movie adaptations of author JK Rowlings bestseller books, turned 18 on August 24, he had delayed his birthday festivities due to a hectic filming schedule, reports the Mirror.
Grint is to be horrified after hearing of the alleged incident.
A Hertfordshire police spokeswoman confirmed that they were investigating a charge of sexual assault that had been brought against one of the guests.
"I can confirm we are investigating an allegation of serious sexual assault on September 9," she said.
Grint is currently working on the filming the fifth Harry Potter movie, The Order of the Phoenix, after which the cast and crew will start work on the sixth flick in the series, ‘Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince’. (ANI)
