© AFP/Getty Images/FileLOS ANGELES (AFP) - "Marriage," set to begin production under the director ship of Ira Sachs in July, tells the story of a married man who has an affair and then plans to kill his wife in order to spare her the humiliation of divorce, Daily Variety said.
Irishman Brosnan, 52, is relaunching his career after being dropped from the Bond movie franchise last year, while Cooper, 54, won the best supporting actor Oscar for his role in 2002's "Adaptation."
Cooper has also had roles in such films as last year's Oscar-nominated oil industry movie "Syriana," the Iraq war film "Jarhead," "Capote," and 2003's horse-racing drama "Seabiscuit."
Clarkson, 45, was nominated for an Oscar for the 2003 drama "Pieces of April," and also had prominent roles in 2003's acclaimed movies "The Station Agent" and "Dogville" as well as in 2002's "Far from Heaven."
Also signed up for a role for "Marriage" is US actress Rachael McAdams, who had roles in last year's "The Wedding Crashers," the spooky thriller "Red-Eye" and "The Family Stone."
