Since Hall is a favored designer when walking the red carpet, Hollywood celebrities seated in the front row included Rachel Griffiths, Dana Delany, Gina Torres, Tia Mowery and Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon.
Kevan, a master of evening dresses set the bar high by presenting fifty four looks, a homage to 1940's costume designer Adrian Gilbert.
The entire collection had a classic vibe with feminine silhouettes walking the runway in classic blacks to hues of pastel pinks, blue, yellow and green in fabrics such as silk chiffon, taffeta, organza, georgette, crepe and satins.
The show opened with a black-and-white sleeveless "Garbo" double-breasted belted dress. The range included short dresses; casual look pencil pants paired with black-and-white silk blouse and a wide patent leather belt giving the ensemble a modern edge; and exquisitely tailored evening gowns. The closing number was a sleeveless floor grazing navy and black "Filmstrip" gown.
Some of the designs from amidst the flowing gowns as well as the short dresses are surely going to make it to the red carpet.
Desperate Housewives star Delany said it at the end of the show that she now knows exactly what she is going to wear during awards.
Women in the audience gasped and cheered as each of his creations was presented. He received a standing ovation at the end of the show.
In the past Kevan Hall has given some iconic red carpet looks to the likes of Salma Hayek, Sharon Stone, Celine Dion, Charlize Therone and Angela Bassett among others.
Talking about his collection Kevan said he was nervous about his show because this collection was a bit different as he changed the feel of the show by going more for a classic vibe.
"I think you can always find a beautiful black dress but I like taking those slinky silhouettes and doing them in hot colors, to really make them more modern. I'm really sensitive about the color choices that I make. I try to make them really flattering and warm, and that evoke a kind of emotion," he added.
