Having spent much of her childhood in an orphanage, she graduated from high school and studied in Brazil as a Foreign Exchange Student on a scholarship.
She has appeared in Coors Light, Diesel Jeans, Revlon and Target campaigns and in magazines like Glamour, Essence, and Cafe. She also appeared in music videos like Naughty By Nature, De Angelo, Monica and a few more. She has even managed to land some supporting roles in a few films.
Coco produced her own sexy 2003, 2004, and 2005 swimsuit calendars. She launched her own clothing line Coco Johnsen Couture in fall 2006.
