After graduating from the Convent of the Sacred Heart high school in New York, Nicky attended college at the Fashion Institute of Technology and Parsons School of Design, but did not complete her fashion degree.
She launched her own clothing line, Chick by Nicky Hilton in 2004, a casual range for the young. She has also designed a line of handbags for Japanese company Samantha Thavasa from 2002-2005.
Earlier this year she started her second line aimed at a more mature audience, called Nicholai, which made its debut for the spring/summer 2008 season on September 9, 2007 in New York City during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
Nicky Hilton, 24, presented her Chick Spring 2008 collection at Mercedes Benz Los Angeles Fashion Week Spring 2008 on Sunday, 14 October 2007. Nicky's parents attended the show. Seated on the front row among others were celebrities Jamie Pressly and Chinese actress Bai Ling.
