November 25, 2008, (Sawf News) - Anubhav Sinha has roped in Hollywood filmmaker Paul Schrader to write and direct a Bollywood action film, Extreme City.
Schrader, who has written classics like Taxi Driver (1976) and Raging Bull both starring Robert De Niro, is moving to Mumbai for the film which is likely to feature dialogs in Hindi and English.
Extreme City is a cross-cultural tale that will center on an American man who travels to India to help resolve a kidnapping case for his father-in-law, only to get caught up in a gangster plot. Schrader is working on the script.
Though the film will feature musical numbers, it will not be a Bollywood masala movie.
The movie is likely to get the backing of a big Bollywood studio. Schrader and Sinha are in talks with a number of Bollywood stars.
Anubhav Sinha, who in the past has directed films like Dus (2005) and Cash (2007) aims to specialize in the action genre.
