October 06, 2008, (Sawf News) - Aishwarya Rai and Rajnikant started their second shooting schedule for the Shankar directed Sci-Fi drama, Endhiran, at an undisclosed exotic locale in India on Monday, October 6.
During the first shooting schedule in September, the unit filmed two song sequences in Machu Picchu (Old Mountain) in Peru and the rain forests of Brazil.
Machu Picchu is a pre-Columbian Inca site located 2,400 meters (7,875 ft) above sea level. It is also one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.
Endhiran, which earlier went by the name Robot, is slotted for release in 2010.
The film's name was changed because Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies has registered the title Robot. It is speculated that the producers opted for a Tamil title because films with Tamil titles get tax rebate from Tamil state government!
Endhiran is reported to be based on the work of the late writer Sujatha's novels En Iniya Iyanthira and Jeeno.
