May 16, 2008 (Sawf News) Karan Johar has denied recent press reports that Shah Rukh Khan had waived his paycheck for the lead role in My Name is Khan in exchange for 50% share of the film's profit.
"I want to clear it in front of media that there is no such thing...Shahrukh I have not spoken to in one month, but apparently he is taking 50% of my profit. I want to tell journalists I will give 100%," Karan told Times TV.
Referring to other reports that Kareena Kapoor may replace Kajol in the film Karan asserted that the star cast for the film had not yet been finalized.
"I have not finalized anything, even Shahrukh has not read the script...and till I get a yes from him I don't approach anyone else, all these rumors are baseless," said Karan.
Interestingly, TOI reports that Shah Rukh will be playing an autistic in the movie and is excited about the role and committed to it.
