May 9, 2008 (Sawf News) - Shah Rukh Khan will waive his entire paycheck for the lead in Karan Johar's Khan in exchange for 50% of the film's profits.
"Karan has offered Shah Rukh a 50 percent stake in the profits of the film, and in return, Shah Rukh will work on the film without charging a single penny," a source told HT City.
Shah Rukh will play a Muslim who gets wrongly detained on a flight because his last name is Khan and the authorities believe that must make a terrorist.
Kajol has been offered the lead role opposite Shah Rukh. She has yet to accept the offer since the script is not yet ready.
The first half of the film is based on a true story that happened to a couple and Karan Johar has bought the story rights from the couple.
