20 June 2007 (Sawf News) - The year 2007 could well go down in history as the year of the Big Fat Bollywood Weddings!

News is making the rounds that Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif will tie the knot by the end of the year, though there is no confirmation from either star!

Twenty-three-year-old Katrina, daughter of a Kashmiri father and a British mother, came to India a few years ago looking for a place in the glamour industry of fashion and modeling.

Instead she found her way into Bollywood when to her great luck, Salman Khan saw her at a Mumbai party and gave her a break in his film Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya.

Hurting from his break up with Aishwarya Rai, Salman Khan needed the balm of love and he worked hard to make Katrina fall in love with him. She apparently did and the two began to appear together in public.

However, their affair remained low key since Katrina was keen to first establish herself in the industry.

Over the past two years Katrina's career has taken off with hits such as with Namastey London and Hum Ko Diwana Kar Gaye. She is presently paired with Govinda in Partner and with Salman Khan in Subhash Ghai's magnum opus Main Yuvraj.

Katrina's success and the Abhishek-Aishwarya wedding put the media focus on the couple who decided to take their relationship to the next level with an appearance on KBC 3 final episode, where Salman for the first time acknowledged that he was Katrina Kaif's boyfriend..

Stardust now reports that Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif plan to marry this year. Sources from Salman's circle of friends say that wedding preparations are going on secretly with service and product suppliers being interviewed and chosen for their experience and quality of work.

Apparently, floral decorators and other service providers who worked for the Abhi Ash wedding are being put under contract for the forthcoming event which will most probably take place by the end of the year.
