29 May 2007 (Sawf News) - Overnight Bollywood brat Salman Khan has turned into a painter of considerable repute, having sold a single painting for Rs One crore. It remains to be seen, however, whether the buyer was motivated by his love of art or simply sucking up to Salman.

At a recent Mumbai art auction organized by Ramola Bachchan for Plan India, a well-known charity, Salman Khan's painting was about to be sold for Rs.20 lakhs, which any novice artist would consider 'very good'!

But Salman Khan, reports Mumbai Mirror, was confident that his art was unique and extraordinary. So when Plan India seemed to accept the bid of Rs.20 lakhs, he walked onto the stage and pulled out his offering from the auction and waited for an opportunity to sell it for a better price.

It seems that Ramesh, an art lover, heard about Sallubhai pulling out his painting from the Bachchan auction and contacted the actor.

"The deal between Salman and Ramesh took place over the phone," adds Mumbai Mirror, "He bought the painting for Rs. one crore yesterday."

Salman had earlier been reluctant to put the painting on auction because he felt the emotion behind the painting – the love of a mother for her child – was priceless. He had determined to sell it only if he got the price he had in mind for it.

However, fellow actor Anil Kapoor convinced Salman to bring his painting for the Plan India auction.

Now that Sallu has received the happy price, he has changed his mind and decided to donate the money instead to the new Salman Khan Foundation.

He had earlier donated his prize money from KBC show with Katrina Kaif also to this foundation.

"This NGO organizes charity shows and benefits the needy by supporting them," confirmed Salman's father Saleem Khan to Mumbai Mirror.
